Privacy

The short version: Yahrzeit Yenta collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We never see your list.

Where your yahrzeits live

Everything you enter stays on your phone. If your phone backs itself up to iCloud or Google, the app's data is included in that backup, under your own account.

Your city

You choose a city so the app knows when Shabbos and Yom Tov begin where you live. It is a name picked from a list. The app does not use your phone's location.

Reminders

Reminders are created on your phone, by your phone. They do not pass through any server.

Sharing

When you share yahrzeits, the names and dates are placed inside the link you send. They travel in the part of the link after the # sign, which browsers never send to a website. Our page at yyenta.vitursa.com only passes the link to the app. It does not receive, read or store what is in it. Whoever you send the link to can read it, so share it the way you would share the names themselves.

Your calendar

If you ask the app to look in your calendar for yahrzeits, it reads event titles and dates on your phone to find them. Nothing it reads leaves your phone. The app asks permission first and works fine without it.

Files

Backups and calendar files are made on your phone and go only where you send them.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone.
